Building future-proof cultivation together

19 June 2025

This week, Harvest House presents its Sustainability Report 2024. In this report, the cooperative shows how growers, chain partners and colleagues work every day to ensure future-proof cultivation, with an eye for people, planet and entrepreneurship.

We don't do sustainability because we have to, but because we believe in it. Jelte van Kammen, CEO of Harvest House, accepted the first copy at the ALV: "Sustainability is not a compulsory chapter: it is in our DNA. We know how important it is to handle energy, water, people and resources carefully. This report shows where we are and where we want to go. We do not wait, we take action. We measure, learn and improve continuously. Only if we cooperate and take responsibility will we keep our licence to produce and make a difference.

The sustainability report is full of real-life examples. From residual heat and LED lighting to organic crop protection, the use of AI and circular packaging. "With these stories, we give our growers and colleagues a face. This is how we make sustainability tangible. That suits who we are: doers with vision," says Sandra Vlielander, communications consultant Harvest House.

The report makes it clear that we are also playing our part in the sector. We connect knowledge, technology and people - from seed to shelf. We opt for cooperation on larger themes such as climate-neutral cultivation, biodiversity, water and labour. And with projects such as True Value and 100% Green Cultivated, we make social value and sustainable impact visible.

This is how we continue to build healthy salads in a healthy world.
