The first red bell peppers of the season have been successfully sold for charity. The first 10 boxes went to the two highest bidders, Combilo and P. Solleveld, who together contributed a nice amount. An additional donation was also made by an anonymous donor and 4Evergreen itself. A total of €9,073 was raised. A special detail: the final amount ends at 73, a tribute to Piet Solleveld, who would have turned 73 this week.
Grower 4Evergreen in Westdorpe from Harvest House had the honour of being the first to harvest the season's red bell peppers. To contribute to Freshride in a special way, the first 10 boxes were made available to interested buyers. The two highest bidders, Combilo and P. Solleveld, will receive 5 boxes each and thus directly support the charity.

It is great to see how companies from the entire AGF sector dedicate themselves with so much enthusiasm to the Freshride every year," said Rob Noordermeer, board member of the Freshriders Foundation.
The Freshride is an annual bike ride in which professionals from the AGF sector raise funds for cancer research. Besides the sporting challenge, money is raised in various ways. The proceeds go to the Erasmus MC Foundation, which is dedicated to cancer research, and to two local charities. The sale of these bell peppers contributes to this in a nice way.
