We are significantlyexpanding our partnership with AgTech scale-up Source.ag. Harvest House is rolling out its Harvest Forecast AI tool across its entire tomato acreage of over 600 hectares, accounting for annual consumption by some 30 million European consumers.
The introduction of Harvest Forecast AI marks a major advance at Harvest House. Weekly, manual yield estimates via spreadsheets are giving way to automated AI forecasts that are updated daily. This means less manual work, more insight and faster adjustments. This technology provides detailed production data 60 days ahead and links directly to the cooperative's CRM systems. This provides them with up-to-date information on a daily basis, significantly improving planning and decision-making.
Biggest challenge
By using AI to aggregate forecasts by product segment, Harvest House can more intelligently match expected supply with retail demand. This leads to less food waste, tighter planning and higher customer satisfaction. "Forecasting is one of the biggest challenges in the fruit and vegetable sector. The technology combines real-time cultivation data, historical growth patterns and smart algorithms to make reliable predictions of volumes, product specifications and harvest schedules. This optimises the entire process from greenhouse to shelf and brings more grip and efficiency to the chain.
